designed FOR USE in active GI disease process and situations of active or impending stress
EquiOtic™ as an immuno-probiotic joins the horseman’s arsenal of preventative measures… don’t just treat, prevent the problem!
Guaranteed number of CFU’s. Highest in the market! Billions! Not just millions. Large numbers live Lactobacillus reuteri (20 billion CFU per 20cc dose) and Sacchaomayces boulardii (20 billion CFU per 20cc dose)
S. Boulardii has been successfully used to help remove pathogens in the microflora of humans and horses. It works in two ways: by binding directly to pathogens to remove them from the GI and by production of metabolites that bind/inactivate toxins produced by pathogens.

Equiotic paste is designed to be used in active GI disease process and situations of active or impending stress. This product contains high numbers of equine Lactobacillus reuteri and Saccharomayces boulardii. The equine specific L. reuteri insures colonization in the GI and efficacy. The high numbers provide insurance that organisms reach the needed regions of the GI tract. S. Boulardii is used because of its ability to prevent the GI from absorbing pathogens.
EquiOtic equine probiotic paste combines LIVE, species specific Lactobacillus reuteri bacteria and Saccharomayces boulardii to help buffer the equine hind gut and reduce the effects of stress on the GI. S. Boulardii has specific involvement with pathogens involved in gastrointestinal infections such as salmonella, clostridia and conforus. S. Boulardii has been successfully used to help remove pathogens in the microflora of humans and horses. It works in two ways by binding directly to pathogens to remove them from the GI or by production of metabolites that bind/inactivate toxins produced by pathogens. S. Boulardii has also been shown to modulate the acid content of the equine hind gut. An increased acidity (low pH) of the hind gut is a common problem in our equine athletes that are fed a high starch diet.
